Community Programs Manager/Community Meals and CSFP

This is a full-time management position. Wayside Food Programs staff works as a unified team in all aspects of operations and management. Please refer to the Wayside website for program descriptions.

Government Food Programs

Community Meals Manager

Wayside’s Community Meals Programs provides weekly, healthy, homemade meals to partner sites throughout Portland, South Portland and Westbrook. The manager oversees all aspects of the meals program. This position is a combination of administrative duties and field work.

Responsibilities include:

· Acting as liaison between Community Meal sites and Wayside

· Helping sites with volunteer recruitment where needed

· Helping sites with meal communication internally and externally

· Developing annual MOUs with meal sites

· Responding to requests from sites for supplies and other necessities

· Ensuring sites are maintaining food safety protocols

· Organizing and managing trainings for coordinators and volunteers

· Fielding inquiries about potential new meal sites.

· Working with the kitchen manager, provide feedback on meals served; working with the kitchen assistant, help with the delivery of meals as needed

· Assisting other organizations with Catering Collective inquiries and applications

· Working with other staff, oversee the annual summer Pop Up Picnic series

· Visiting all meal sites on a rotating basis

· Managing data collection

CSFP Manager

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program provides supplemental groceries monthly for residents who are 60 years or older in Cumberland, Oxford, and York Counties and is a partnership between Wayside and the State of Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. This position is a combination of administrative duties and field work.

Responsibilities include:

· Visiting distribution sites on a rotating basis as needed to provide in-person support and a Wayside presence

· Working with team members at Wayside, Good Shepherd Food Bank, and partner sites to coordinate deliveries & distributions

· Being the primary contact person to field any questions, concerns or request from partners, volunteers, and program participants

· Creating an outreach plan to expand existing programming and for continued development of cultivating new partners and sites

· Processing new applications

· Ensuring data is being collected by partners and volunteers as required

· Utilizing Microsoft Office for data tracking, communication, etc

· Overall program development, operations, and management including working with existing partners to strengthen overall program objectives

· Working with partners and volunteers to ensure sites are meeting Wayside standards and that partners and volunteers are trained and informed

· Oversee reporting requirements; assist partner sites with outreach and marketing

Qualifications:

· Ability and desire to work with people from a wide range of diverse backgrounds and experiences

· Experience with Seniors in a social service or other professional setting

· High level communication skills-writing, listening, organizing, strategic and short-term planning

· Ability to work independently and as a team member

· Excellent driving record and access to a vehicle as needed

· Ability to lift heavy objects

Compensation: $24.00/hr

· 401k retirement plan w employer match

· PTO 180 hrs/year plus some paid holidays

Employer-paid STD, and LTD insurance

Hours: 36/hrs Monday-Thursday 9-5, and Friday 8-12 with some flexibility
