Congregation Bet Ha'am Religious SchoolThis week a group of 7th graders from Congregation Bet Ha'am Religious School prepared trail mix for Wayside to share with community members! The students, all of whom are preparing for their Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, are studying a theme this year that translates from Hebrew as 'Heal the World'. They have spent the year reviewing ways they as young people can offer support to our community and be of service to both organizations and their neighbors. Project Respect & Parkside Fun MentorsThis week over 50 students from Waynflete and Howard C. Reiche Community School joined us to make special Valentine's Day cards and cookies for our community! The Project Respect and Parkside Fun mentor programs pair Waynflete students with a younger Reiche buddy in the 3rd - 5th grade. They participate in activities throughout the year, including service projects like this one. This program is made possible by out friends and partners, the Portland Maine Police Department Community Coordinators.
